Flame shaped shaped wood

A high-quality wood prized since ancient times for its durability and resistance to decay, as well as its pleasant fragrance. It has been used for interior features such as alcove posts and for furniture, and its workability also makes it suitable for things like pencil casings. Its leafy branches grow steadily upward, giving the entire tree the shape of a flame. One theory is that it was named after the trees on Mount Ibuki in Shiga Prefecture.
