薬にも洗剤にもなる木

豆果は皁莢という生薬で去痰薬、利尿薬として用いる。古くから莢（さや）を水につけて手で揉むとぬめりと泡が出るので、かつては洗剤として使われていた。近年まで石鹸で傷む絹の着物の洗濯などに煮出して利用されていた。建築、家具、器具、薪炭用として用いる。

Bean curd is a herbal medicine named pond, used as an expectorant and diuretic. Until recently it was being boiled out for washing silk kimonos damaged by soap and used. Used for architecture, furniture, equipment, firewood charcoal.
