A strongly fragrant wood with insect-repellent properties
The wood has a fine grain and is highly resistant to moisture and decay. Its strong camphor-like scent repels insects, making it suitable for furniture such as chests of drawers. It is also used for park and street trees, temple and shrine construction, shipbuilding, and carving.
