a tree created by grafting

Found along the American West Coast, this exquisite wood is born from grafting European walnut onto American walnut stock. Its hallmark is the stunning burl grain—a breathtaking result of natural inflammation at the graft point—whose immense rarity makes it the premier choice for the dashboards of elite luxury vehicles, fine furniture, and bespoke musical instruments. These precious burls are also frequently meticulously sliced into fine veneers.
