クリスマスツリーで使う木

クリスマスツリーでなじみ深い木であり、樹形は端正で美しい。最大で樹高40mの大樹にもなり、建築材や木箱などに使われる。名前の由来には、風にもみ合うことから「揉みの木」、または神聖な木で信仰の対象となっていたことから「臣（おみ）の木」といった説がある。

A familiar tree often used as a Christmas tree, it has a neat, beautiful shape. It can grow into a large tree up to 40 meters tall and is used for building materials and wooden boxes. There are several theories about the origin of its name: it may come from the way its branches rub together in the wind "揉みの木", or from “臣の木,” meaning a sacred tree that was worshipped.
