チューリップツリーといわれる木

ポプラは北海道の風景には欠かせない木として知られているが、これは全く別種の木であり、ポプラは一般的にアメリカのイエローポプラを指す。花はチューリップに似ており、チューリップツリーともいわれる。加工しやすい材質のため、造作・建具などの内装材や家具材、ドア、楽器、おもちゃなど幅広い用途に使用される。
