シマウマのような木目からゼブラウッドと呼ばれる。日本でも婚礼家具の時代はゼブラの単板が洋服ダンスなどの家具に大流行した。木質は重硬で、磨くと光沢が出る。今や伐採禁止となってからは流通量が激減し、かなりの希少価値。
