「森の王様」とも呼ばれる木

アガチスは、ニュージーランドのマオリ族が樹高が45mという大木に成長する事から畏敬の念を込めて、「森の王様」と呼んでいる。家具用としては箪笥のひきだし用材として使われ、彫刻を施した玄関のドアの材料としても利用される。また長押、敷居の材料として使われる他、楽器の材料としても利用される事があり、ギターのボディー材としての利用が有名。

Tree also called "the King of the Forest"

Agathis calls "Maori of New Zealand" as a "a king of the forest" with awe in from the fact that the tree grows into a big tree with a tree height of 45 m. For use as furniture, it is used as a drawer for drawers, and it is also used as a material for the entrance door with sculpture. It is also used as a material for long presses and doors, besides being used as a material for musical instruments, it is famous for use as a guitar body material.
