昔から民間薬として使われてきた木

果実が細長いさく果でササゲ（大角豆）に似てるのでキササゲと呼ばれるようになる。
また果実の乾燥させたものを生薬で梓実（しじつ）ともいい、民間薬としては胃腸薬や明日のむくみ・痺れ、腎臓炎にも使われてきた。

As fruits are elongated, they resemble cowpea (big bean), so they will be called chrysalis.
